The Hopeful Journey

The Hopeful Journey

After ten years of imagination, writing and patience I have finally done it I have created my first novel! The Void Descending has now ascended into the form of a book known as The Hopeful Journey. It is the first book of the Void Unveiling Chronicles which in turn is part of overarching story; The Chronicles from Beyond the Void; a tale spanning centuries from high medieval to a spacefaring civilisation.
It is available on Amazon as a paperback and will shortly be available on kindle. I will be working to create an audiobook of it at sometime in the near future.

BEHOLD:

Upon an island of dreamers Beth, John and George partake in the Ceremony of Night leading them on a fateful journey away from the pleasantries and comforts of their home and into the peculiar world of Obliviac. As they venture on this hopeful journey they discover the world is not as they thought, the squabbles and desires of lords and princes begins to take its toll. The denizens of the forest stalk them from near and far. They are tested in mind and body as the deeper mysteries and darker visionaries of Obliviac eclipse their will. Nothing is as it appeared to be, as all things that were once so certain seem to fade. This world, this Obliviac orbited by three moons in an ever shifting sea of dying stars is at the heart of the Chronicles from Beyond the Void, a tale spanning centuries through time and stretching off into the eternal night.

The Forests of Failorea Map

The Forests of Failorea

One of the largest expanses of forest in Obliviac, The Forests of Failorea stretch across the continent from the eastern coast of the Roaring Sea to the western coast of the Ethereal Sea. It is home to a boundless amount of wildlife and forgotten myths. Admist the wild beasts, monsters, peculiar trees, curious geography and many ancient ruins are small villages, farms, miners, loggers and the occasional road. Several key ruling families rule over the forest and its inhabitants but the sheer amount of land is often impossible to keep records of.

The five ruling families include the Algers who reside at Stone Creek, the Firths of Blent Rock, the Stanfords of Clad Wharf, the Terridims of Thesturn and the Hamiltons of Overhill. The Hamiltons live further to the west of the forests on a natural border with the Merelands. The sixth ruling power is the Myslium Isles but seldom do the families of the great forests come into contact with the druids, many ordinary folk will not even know of islands existence.
